Has anyone ever created a hydrogen powered car? Wouldn’t this help the environment?

If we had hydrogen powered vehicles, couldn’t we use seawater to obtain an endless supply of hydrogen and wouldn’t it be cleaner?
Also the only biproduct would be fresh water and salt. Could this plant also produce drinking water for places that need it?
Couldn’t the production plant be powered also by hydrogen, thus becoming self reliant?
Why aren’t scientist working harder on this issue?
The fresh water – biproduct can be used for drinking and such as well, especially in places like Australia, where we are running out of fresh water, but surrounded by seawater.

Even if there were an alternative to fuel wouldn’t it be choked out by the big oil companies?

Alternative fuel research is a top priority, but if there were someone who would discover this alternative method wouldn’t it be stamped out by “Big Oil?” Don’t the major oils companies have enough influence to say, “we’re going to lose too much money on this, don’t produce it yet to the government?” What do you think? Is there an answer, but it is just being held up by poitics?

Car wouldn’t go but will shift in gear (during cold weather). Doesn’t feel strained. Any answers?

’06 300C 30,000 miles. Been parked in lot over 24 hours at -10 deg fahrenheit. Started, drove to stop light, when it turned green, car wouldn’t go. It acted like it was in neutral. If wound up to around 3500 rpm car would move in reverse slowly. I did this to get it back to the parking lot and let it warm up. It worked fine once warmed up.

If a green car was in front of your house and moved when you moved wouldn’t you believe it was following you?

A green car parked across from my house. Moved when I moved. Then each morning when I got up it was there and then when I walked to work it continued to drive up and down the road until I reached work. When I returned home that green car was parked in the same place.
