The wife of an engineering professor filled up her car’s gas tank, reset the fuel economy calculator to zero, and then drove the hybrid electric car 82 miles. During her trips, she obtained 37.2 miles per gallon performance out of the car. The professor drove the car an additional 8 miles, averaging 51 miles per gallon during his trips.
