A Hybrid car is one that is green and clean, hence not only protecting the environment but also your wallet by efficient fuel consumption. Hybrid cars actually combine two kinds of energy components for operation. One is petrol and the other electricity, hence making the vehicle such that it is hyperactive low emission, and quiet as well as cheap to run.
The first and foremost advantage of a hybrid car is associated with the protection of the environment, as hybrid cars have very low emissions and hence not having the greenhouse effect. The cost of fuel is less, and the resale value of hybrid cars is very good, hence making the car financially very feasible.
There are two main types coming in hybrid cars. One is the Parallel and the other Series. In the parallel hybrid, the petrol and electric motor of the car have the ability to power the transmission at the same time. However, in series hybrid, the petrol engine of the car doesn’t directly power the transmission. Instead, there is the generator that charges the batteries or the electric motor, which actually perform the transmission.
There are cars that are Full hybrid and there are Assist hybrids as well. The former ones can run on the engine alone and can run on the batteries or both, whereas, assist hybrids are the ones that possess a small gasoline engine that provides them with the primary power. Some of the cars made by Honda and Toyota are the best known among hybrids.
There are certain features in a hybrid vehicle that are especially built and help in better performance of the car, so that it can be fuel-efficient. In times like these when fuel costs are high, hybrid cars can be very useful. They may be a little expensive as compared to the non-hybrid ones, but they are worth it, as they save a lot on fuel as well as environment.
Hybrid cars have the ability to drive up to sixty miles per gallon, as opposed to the normal vehicle that drives twenty two to twenty eight miles a gallon. Slow and smooth acceleration of a hybrid car can help you save the gas. There are ways of handling a hybrid car that can actually help you in increasing the fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
The main advantage of a hybrid car is that it uses a lot less fuel to start with and when there is less fuel, there would ultimately be lesser emissions, hence protecting the environment from the ever-increasing pollution, as individual effort becomes collective effort for the betterment of the Earth.
Hybrid cars started in 1999. It was when Honda introduced its first hybrid car. With more awareness about the environment with the passage of time, the demand for the hybrids has been increasing over the passage of years. People who want to save the environment as well as costs are very likely to buy hybrid cars.

Compare ALL Hybrid cars with each other before deciding.
The following article includes pertinent information that may cause you to reconsider what you thought you understood. The most important thing is to study with an open mind and be willing to revise your understanding if necessary.
For the past fout or five years, there has been much ado about Hybrid Cars and the many benefits they could offer. Their popularity has been compounded by the ever surging gas prices and the concern for the environment. It seems that Hybrid Cars are the solution to both. When you use a Hybrid car, you contribute less to the thickening air pollution, plus you save a lot of money since they require less fuel, plus there are numerous tax credits being given by many states.
For these reasons, hybrid cars have experienced a sharp increase in sales and more car manufacturers are joining the hybrid vehicle arena with their own versions. For those who are planning to buy a hybrid car, the choices are numerous, that’s why you have to compare hybrid cars with one another to see which one would go well with your needs.
Two of the top hybrid car manufacturers are the Japanese giant’s Toyota and Honda. They are credited with producing many innovations in the hybrid technology and their hybrid cars are the most acclaimed, most sought after and most awarded hybrid vehicles today.
Here we will compare the hybrid cars they are offering for 2007, these will include the Honda Accord Hybrid, Honda Civic Hybrid, Lexus GS 450H, Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Toyota Prius.
You can see that there’s practical value in learning more about “hybrid car”. Can you think of ways to apply what’s been covered so far?
Their fuel efficiency can be compared through their average consumption per mile in different situations, like; City Driving – where the traffic is constantly stopping, Highway Driving – where the engine can freely operate at maximum level and their combined average usage.
Miles Per Gallon – Average Miles Used Per gallon of Fuel
· Honda Accord Hybrid – 28 MPG (city), 35 MPG (Highway) and 31 MPG (Combined Average)
· Honda Civic – 49 MPG (city), 51 MPG (Highway) and 50 MPG (Combined Average)
· Lexus GS 450H – 25 MPG (city), 28 MPG (Highway) and 26 MPG (Combined Average)
· Toyota Camry Hybrid – 38 MPG (city), 40 MPG (Highway) and 39 MPG (Combined Average)
· Toyota Prius – 51 MPG (city), 60 MPG (Highway) and 55 MPG (Combined Average)
But before you just pick out the one with the highest MPG average, you still have to consider and compare a couple of aspects as well. This includes the fuel type. All of these vehicles use regular gasoline except for the Lexus which uses Premium Gasoline that is pricier.
Then you also have to compare the size class of each hybrid car and their engine size and liters. The Accord Hybrid is a midsize car with a 3 liter – 6 cylinder engine. The Civic Hybrid is a compact car with a 1.3 liter – 4 cylinder engine. The Lexus is another compact car with a 3.5 liter – 6 cylinder engine. The Camry Hybrid is a midsize sedan equipped with a 2.4 liter – 4 cylinder engine and the Toyota Prius is a compact car with a 1.5 liter – 4 cylinder engine. The more powerful the engine is, the more fuel will be consumed.
Considering this aspect and others is needed when comparing hybrid cars. You have to consider the differences. Before purchasing a hybrid car, compare first and do your research. Find one that would suit your needs and your personality best to get the perfect hybrid car for you.
That’s how things stand right now. Keep in mind that any subject can change over time, so be sure you keep up with the latest news.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Hyundai Dealers Indianapolis: Visit Them And Try The New 2011 Azera
This year’s Chicago Auto Show featured a wide array of fantastic new cars. With the pounding that the automotive industry took over the course of 2009, it was key for a lot of manufacturers to unveil some of their most innovative vehicles to date in order to continue as major players in the auto arena. Some of the most intriguing unveilings revolved around cars that featured outstanding and unprecedented fuel efficiency, while others boasted a happy medium between fuel efficiency and power. I’m a sedan type of guy, so I had my eye out for some of the coming years’ best sedan designs, and the manufacturer that caught my eye this year was Hyundai. Indianapolis Hyundai dealers are about to get a breath of fresh air in a market that has been giving the prize to cars with the best fuel economy.
I’m of course talking about the brand new unreleased 2011 Hyundai Azera, a sedan that features a range of styling and technical updates that will help set the vehicle off as one of the most intriguing buys of the coming year. Indianapolis Hyundai dealers are most excited about the engine updates included with the new Azera model, like a 3.3-liter Lambda V6 that pumps 260 horsepower and 233 pound-feet of torque and a 3.8-liter V6 with 283 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. The new engine options will make the new Azera one of the most powerful vehicles in its class – a fact that should extend the 2011 model’s usefulness to Indianapolis used Hyundai dealers over the coming years.
The Azera comes standard with a variable intake system (VIS), a feature that contributes to outstanding pick-up and great passing performance. Utilized on both the intake and exhaust sides, the car gets an impressive 20 miles per gallon in city driving and 28 miles per gallon on the highway with the Lambda and 19 miles per gallon in city and 27 miles per gallon on the highway for the 3.8-liter V6. In an industry that has moved so much focus to the fuel efficiency side of things, the engine updates are crucial for drivers that enjoy a powerful ride while using as little fuel as possible. Indianapolis Hyundai dealers are impressed with the functionality of the new Azera which will set the vehicle off from the competition and help Hyundai reestablish credibility in a shaky market.
A six-speed automatic transmission as a standard is another huge factor driving the Azera’s new reputation. By improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions, the six-speed automatic becomes a key feature for this year’s model. This new gearbox is both smaller and lighter than competitors on the market and was developed over a four-year period in partnership with Kia Motors. The new gearbox is a good reason why we expect to see the Azera featured at Indianapolis used Hyundai dealers for years to come.
Style-wise, the new Azera will have a much more premium, modern look thanks in part to subtle exterior changes like a revised front fascia with a new front grille, headlights and bumper. For more on design, check out the Hyundai website.

Indianapolis Used Hyundai Dealers Offer Reliable Pre-Owned Crossover Options
A rising segment in the auto industry, crossovers came into existence through automakers with no real experience in SUV production. Fortunately for these manufacturers, the market for SUVs isn’t dead yet. But crossovers solved a simple problem that had plagued drivers across other segments, many of which simply assume that SUVs drive like boats, hogging the road and offering dismal performance and reaction time.

Indianapolis used car dealer excited about new 2011 Hyundai lineup
MSN.com is raving about this year’s Hyundai lineup, saying, “Hyundai has continued to prove it is a serious competitor capable of beating manufacturers such as Honda and Toyota at their own game. In 2010 the company shocked sports car aficionados and luxury buyers alike with the Genesis Coupe and the Genesis Sedan. In 2011 we will see the company take on the midsize market in a big way, as well as enter a niche segment with an ultraluxury sedan, the Equus.”

Contemporary Furniture Eco Retailers – Where To Find Them
September 14, 2010 by admin
The Retail revolution. Where to buy eco design for your home.
Eco homewares and contemporary eco furniture are becoming increasingly mainstream as a new breed of independent online retailers champion green design. The signs are that eco homewares and furniture are set to enter the mainstream as ethical consumer spending soars (up 11% says The Co-operative). Oliver Heath, of Changing Rooms fame, certainly thinks so, claiming, dramatically, ‘This will be the industrial revolution of our time’.
His impassioned belief that sustainable and recycled, design-led products – categorized by his EcoCentric online venture as ‘urban eco chic’ – are challenging the pile-it-high-sell-it-cheap approach of the high street, is certainly ethically compelling.
Eco chic is not new it has to be said. But witty and stylish though the iconic designs by high-profile designers like Tom Dixon, Ross Lovegrove, Piet Hein Eek, Fernando and Humberto Campana, and husband and wife team, Tord Boontje and Emma Wooffenden.
are, they have, to draw a parallel with the fashion industry, failed to translate from catwalk to high street.
One hurdle is accessibility: many of the designs are, not to put too fine a point on it, bonkers. Price is, predictably, another issue: putting products, which are typically hand-crafted and/or made in Britain into mass production is by conventional measures, unprofitable. And, in the case of recycled design another challenge is, ironically, securing a reliable supply of the right waste materials.
Such factors prevented Boontje’s and Woffenden’s tranSglass range of sculpted wine bottles, conceived back in 1997, from making the leap from studio to factory production for seven years. ‘Technically production is not difficult,’ comments Boontje, ‘the problem is that most factories do not have the infrastructure to collect and clean used bottles.’ Setting up a new production facility in Guatemala has been the successful solution.
Move away from the hot lights of the celebrity designer arena and production issues increase. Max McMurdo of Reestore, whose inspired designs using unpromising waste like shopping trolleys and windscreens have graced the window of Selfridges, Oxford Street, says, only after five, long years, has he noticed a shift in attitudes and ‘companies are now starting to come to me’.
Exhibitions like [re]design and The Eco Design Fair have sprung up to help young eco designers reach a wider market and promote the idea of sustainable design, but what’s really needed is a dedicated eco style emporium: a green version of Heal’s or Habitat, to champion designers and win over consumers.
Enter Oliver (Heath)’s army: a band of design-savvy, environmentally-motivated, online retailers who have been quietly massing (Brighton’s a particular hotbed of insurgency), determined to overthrow the established belief that ‘eco’ and ‘design’ are mutually exclusive terms. Nigel’s Eco Store was launched in March 2005, followed by By Nature in June, The Natural Store in August, Eco-Boudoir in October, Biome Lifestyle in December, and EcoCentric and The Lazy Environmentalist in, respectively, April and June 2006.
What they share is the belief that design is key to developing the green lifestyle market. Annabelle Randles of By Nature puts it this way: ‘No-one is going to buy a product they do not like just because it is sustainable. We want to change the perception that if something is organic or recycled it’s not very interesting or exciting.’ Virtual stores help keep costs roughly on a par with non-green alternatives sourced from the Far East, although several companies divulge the long-term aim is to develop the real thing.
It won’t be easy. Andrew Jones, who launched Hen & Hammock, focusing on environmentally-friendly, garden kit in September 2006, volunteers, ‘The only way people will succeed is if they feel passionately about it. Costs are too high to set out to purely make money.’

There are various green energy sources such as solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal and they don’t produce anything harmful which may cause a negative effect on the nature and surroundings. Solar energy is a form of green energy source and it is accomplished by converting the sun’s rays into electricity by means of solar cells. The solar panels accumulate the energy from the sunlight. Solar energy is renewable and it doesn’t cause any damages to the atmosphere. The smallest solar cells can be seen in watches and calculators but the large ones – installed over huge areas of land.
It will be great if we can produce our own green energy and save money with solar electricity. If you know that a kilowatt of solar energy can produce 5.5 hours of electricity per day you can see the power of this energy. If you use more solar cells it comes natural to you that you will be able to produce enough power for a few days.
Almost anyone can build their own solar panels, saving 1,000′s off of the retail price. When you “Do It Yourself” you can cut your costs and with a step-by-step guide you can quickly and easily start producing your own electricity.
?he technology for solar energy has been developed the last few years partly by reason of the rising costs of energy. Experts are sure that within five years, powering the home through the solar energy method will be widely available for those who prefer it. Green energy sources are the solution to many problems of this lifetime.
Once you open this Detailed DIY Guide you will see exactly how to build your own solar energy for less than $200.

What Are Hybrid Cars And Why Should We Use Them?
August 12, 2010 by admin

Green Living For Kids And How To Get Them Involved
July 2, 2010 by admin
My daughter recently came home from school the other day with a handout provided by her teacher that talked about the importance of adopting a green lifestyle to help both the environment and our local economy.
This presented me with a unique opportunity to speak to my daughter about different things that she could do, even though she is a child, to start leading a responsible green lifestyle. My daughter seemed interested in the subject, and so I decided that I would speak to my wife that we would come up with different activities that her daughter could do to get more involved with environmental activities.
The first thought that came to my mind was that my daughter could play a more active role within our household as it related to organizing the recyclable materials that were collected every single week. I realized that this was not a radical amount of responsibility, which suited my purposes.
I’ve always felt that parents can sometimes become a little bit too overly zealous about a particular issue or topic and that they run the risk of potentially alienating their child from that topic by coming on a little bit too strong. So I thought that it would make sense to see if my daughter we conscientiously gathered the recyclables and make sure that they were properly sorted every week.
Thankfully, my wife agreed with this idea. We both had an opportunity to speak to our daughter and she seemed very receptive. She even suggested that instead of getting rid of the banana peel from the banana that she typically took to school every day, she would instead add it to a compost pile that she wanted to begin keeping just outside our home. She encourage my wife and I to contribute appropriate table scraps for the compost pile.
To the extent you want your child to get involved with environmentalism and for them to become somewhat more conscious about green lifestyle choices, I encourage you to start with having them handle the recycling duties around your home or apartment.
It’s a conservative approach that will allow you to talk to them about important environmental issues without running as high of a risk of alienating them from the topic as a result of being to overbearing.
