The Chevrolet Tahoe is a full size sports utility vehicle which has been sold and produced by General Motors since 1992.Â Since it is a full size SUV, the Tahoe does not get very good fuel efficiency.Â However, the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe does come with various engine options which have an effect on the overall fuel efficiency.

The base engine option for the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe is a 5.3 liter eight cylinder engine which is combined with a six speed automatic transmission.Â This engine option comes with decent horsepower and torque and fuel efficiency is above average when compared to other full size SUVs.Â The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates that the Tahoe with the 5.3 liter engine gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 15 miles per gallon on the highway.Â The Tahoe comes standard with two wheel drive, however if it is upgraded to four wheel drive fuel efficiency remains the same.Â To help save money on gasoline, the 5.3 liter engine will accept either normal gasoline or the cheaper E85 fuel.

For those drivers looking for more fuel efficiency, the 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe can come with a hybrid engine.Â The hybrid engine is actually larger than the traditional engine and is a six liter eight cylinder engine.Â Â Fuel efficiency for the hybrid Tahoe is quite impressive as the EPA estimates that it will get 21 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway.Â When upgrading the hybrid Tahoe to four wheel drive, fuel efficiency remains the same.Â

I love Hummers. A few months ago I heard they are going out of business, but they just released their newest model, the HX. So are they going out of business or not? I hope not. In my neighborhood, there are like 10 people with a Hummer in their driveway. I know Hummers use lots of gas and are huge, but do you think it would ever be possible to make a “green” Hummer? It seems like all the “green” and eco-friendly cars are boxy, ugly, and small. Why can’t they make a big eco-friendly car? That would definitely be hot, because Americans like big cars, but we also want to be green nowadays, right? So why dont car companies just do that? Would it be so hard to make an eco-friendly or more fuel-efficient Hummer, Suburban, Tahoe, Escalade, etc? And if not, why is it taking so long?

I never said I WANTED or bought a Hummer because my neighbors have one or for any other reason. I just said that I liked them. I’m only 16 and I already have a car. I’m just asking, why dont they make big eco-friendly cars.
