Infiniti to Release Redesigned Vehicles This Summer

The Nissan Motor Corporation is in the process of revitalizing its lineup as well as its luxury division Infiniti. This summer, Infiniti will be releasing the new G35 which, according to the auto industry experts, is gaining ground on its established competitors. The most notable competition for the G35 is the BMW 3 Series and the G35 is reportedly catching up with the German car.
For this summer, the shape of the G35 does not move away from the previous version of the entry-level sports sedan. While it looks similar to the previous G35, the new model is redesigned to have better interior features. According to its manufacturer, one of the most notable features that the new G35 has over its predecessor is the use of aluminum as accent pieces inside the car.
The car’s powerplant is also improved for the 2007 model year. The new G35 is now equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine which is rated to produce as much as 306 horsepower. That amount of power generated by the engine can propel the Infiniti G35 to 60 miles per hour from a standstill in just 5.6 seconds. This acceleration is faster than the BMW 330i, the Mercedes-Benz C350 and the Audi A4 3.2. While it as superior acceleration, the Infiniti G35 is rated to travel 19 miles on a single gallon of gasoline in city driving. For highway cruising, the G35 can run for 26 miles on a gallon of fuel. This is possible even without the use of performance enhancing components such as the Infiniti cold air intake system.
For the inside of the G35, Infiniti took the effort to use better materials. The use of higher quality materials is complemented by a better interior layout and color scheme. For the dashboard, the new G35 is given gauges illuminated by white/purple lights.
Another vehicle that will come to Infiniti dealerships across the United States this summer is the M Series, most notably the Infiniti M35X. The midsize luxury car is equipped with an improved engine for the 2007 model year. The top-of-the-line M35X is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine which can produce as much as 275 horsepower. According to experts, the new engine is considered as one of the finest engines available today.
The M35X has a gas mileage rating of 17 miles per gallon for city driving. On highways, the engine can consume a gallon of gasoline after covering 24 miles. According to Infiniti, the new M35X will have a starting price of $44,550 when it hits showrooms in the U.S.
According to the maker of the M35X, it will come equipped with a long list of feature which includes a five-speed automatic transmission with manual mode which is expected to be the choice of performance enthusiasts. The midsize luxury car will also be available with anal-wheel drive configuration for better traction on different road conditions.
Safety features includes an anti-lock braking system complemented by an Electronic Brake Force Distribution system. It also has side impact airbags, rear seat head restraints and the standard front airbags to protect the occupants of the car in the unfortunate event of a crash.
With the release of these vehicles and the amount of buzz it has generated in the auto industry, Infiniti is being dubbed as a car maker on the rise. This is surely good news for Nissan.
Given her background on cars as an auto insurance director, Lauren Woods finds the world of cars to be constantly changing.
11 ways to cut your summer gas bill

11 ways to cut your summer gas bill
It’s an annual ritual: As temperatures climb, so do prices at the pump. These tips can make summer driving more affordable.
This coming summer, like most summers, gas prices are expected to rise. A gallon of regular is likely to average $2.92 during the summer driving season, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. That would be up 48 cents from $2.44 per gallon last summer and 8% more expensive than the $2.71 current national average.
Do you really need a car?
Mostly, the rising cost of gas is due to supply and demand. Warmer weather means people drive more, and higher demand for gas leads to higher prices. (estimates 32 million Americans traveled away from home over Memorial Day weekend, with 87% driving, up 5.8% over last year.)
But this year, other factors could set in. Oil-industry analysts say in the Gulf of Mexico could interfere with crude prices later in summer if oil deliveries to Gulf Coast refineries are disrupted or if the spill leads to increased drilling restrictions. Tropical storms and hurricanes could also affect prices because they disrupt distribution channels and drilling operations.

To compile these money-saving tips, we consulted Patrick DeHaan, the senior petroleum analyst and lead blogger for Christie Hyde, a spokeswoman for AAA; Dave Engelman, a Porsche spokesman; and the U.S. Department of Energy.
1. Drive smoothly
Rapidly accelerating and braking — and driving aggressively in general, for that matter — will reduce your mileage by up to a third. Instead, change speed at sensible rates. You’ll save money if you do.
Fuel economy benefit: 5% in the city, 33% on the highway.
Equivalent gasoline savings: 14 cents per gallon in the city, 89 cents per gallon on the highway.
2. Maintain tire pressure
Improperly inflated tires will decrease your gas mileage by almost 4%. Properly inflated tires are not just more efficient — they’ll last longer, too.
Fuel economy benefit: about 0.3% for every 1 PSI (pound per square inch) drop in pressure of all four tires.
Equivalent gasoline savings: about 8 cents per gallon.
3. Obey the speed limit
It’s true that each vehicle reaches optimal fuel economy at a different speed, but for most cars, efficiency decreases at anything over 60 mph.
Fuel economy benefit: up to 23% improvement.
Equivalent gasoline savings: For many vehicles, each 5 mph over 60 mph costs an extra 24 cents per gallon, and in some vehicles it costs more than 60 cents per gallon.
4. Nurture that engine
Change oil regularly, replace fluid levels, keep the engine clean, get the emissions tested, and stay up-to-date on tuneups. Fixing major problems, such as a faulty oxygen sensor, can improve your mileage by 40%, according to the Department of Energy.
Fuel economy benefit: about 4% for regular tuneups.
Equivalent gasoline savings: 11 cents per gallon.
5. Buy a car with a smaller engine
Smaller engines need less fuel than larger engines (for example, a 4-cylinder will require less than a V-6 or V-8), and turbochargers can help make up the difference in power. So if you’re choosing between a 4-cylinder and a V-6, go small.
Fuel economy benefit: as much as 20%.
Equivalent gasoline savings: Assuming 15,000 miles driven in one year, on fuel that costs $2.71 per gallon, the difference between getting 20 miles per gallon and one that gets 30 mpg amounts to $678. See More On www.sweetolatmusic.blogspot.com

Small Space Gardening, How To Plant A Container For Summer: Life Around Home With William Moss
September 3, 2010 by admin
Life Around Home’s William Moss visits Hatcher Gardens Woodland Preserve to present a great Summer gardening project. Containers are the best way for people without yards, whether in the city or just in an apartment, to maximize their plant growth. Start with a good container and fill it three quarters of the way with potting soil, make sure to leave at least 3-4 inches at the top. Did you know most plants’ roots only grow within the top six inches of the soil? When deciding which plants to use, choose some flowers and some foliage – experiment and play with different arrangement until you find something you like. Think of the whole combination as a plate of food, so you need a meat, a vegetable and a starch – a focal point, a filler and something to hang over the side. For instance, you may use a Bell Pepper as a vertical focal point, Fountain Grasses as the filler and Polius to weep over the sides. Also, try to choose plants that will maintain throughout Summer all the way until the frost begins. Here William picks Pentas for butterflies, Squash as a trailer and Chili Pepper as an additional filler. As always, William uses organic soil, which you should especially consider when including edible elements in your container combinations, this maximizes nutrients and vitamins while minimizing toxins.
