By now, you might be tired of hearing about it, but I’ll tell you for a fact, you have to be glad it is happening. Of course, I’m talking about the automotive industry’s push towards better fuel economy to reduce its environmental footprint, help destroy America’s dependency on oil from foreign countries and lower the total cost of ownership as it depends on gas. These are all huge benefits, so it’s nearly impossible to say you don’t care. By now, you’ve probably also heard about Toyota’s role as a leader in cutting-edge technology. But it’s a New Year and time for new manufacturers to make a play in the fuel efficiency space.

The reform movement in engine technology is a long time in coming. I’ve been keeping abreast of the latest developments because I’m a pretty big advocate for green living. The mileage figures have been upped 20 miles per gallon in city driving and between 26 and 28 miles per gallon on the highway.
