Two for the road: Benz hybrid, sports sedan Two for the road: Benz hybrid, sports sedan
2By ROGER WITHERSPOON There are some songs that seem made for road trips. The sun was high, the road was dry and, at 120 miles per hour, the Connecticut landscape was a kaleidoscope of spring floral prints that seemed to throb in time with the bass line of the Temptations’ Runaway Child pounding from the 15 speakers in the Harmon-Kardon sound system.

Charles Krauthammer: Vision beats cleaning beaches
Barack Obama doesn’t do the mundane. He was sent to us to do larger things. You could see that plainly in his Oval Office address on the Gulf oil spill. He could barely get himself through the pedestrian first half: a bit of BP-bashing, a bit of faux-Clintonian “I feel your pain,” a bit of recovery and economic mitigation accounting. It wasn’t until the end of the speech — the let-no-crisis-go …

Fatalities in auto crashes fell again in 2009 to a record low
W ITH EACH day seeming to bring a new and terrifying road-related danger, there was some encouraging news announced last week: Fatalities from motor vehicle crashes fell again in 2009, to a record-low rate of 1.16 deaths per 100 million vehicles miles traveled. I was a little surprised, since a record low rate was previously set in 2008, when gas cost $4 a gallon for a big chunk of the summer …

How can I increase fuel efficiency on a 2008 V6 Mustang?

March 17, 2010 by

The fuel economy is definitely not one of the Mustang’s strongest points. Besides keeping tires inflated, avoiding rapid acceleration, driving at a reasonable speed, and having routine maintenance, what else can I do to increase its fuel efficiency? (Electronic methods and tuners would be one avenue I would consider.)
Thanks!

What is the best way to convert my mustang to a ‘green car’?

March 1, 2010 by

It’s gasoline, right now and I’ve been wanting to convert it to a more greener car. What method would be best? Electric? I’ve looked at electric conversion kits, which seems best for me as I could more easily raise money for that then a whole new car. But I don’t have the know how to put the kit in my car, and I don’t know of anyone else around here that would know either. I live in Oklahoma, is there a place nearby that could do this for me, and if so, how much would cost?
