These days gas is used more as fuel. And use of the gas is beneficial over the petrol or diesel. Because of this manufactures are producing more vehicles which use the gas as fuel. One of these vehicles is the Ford Escape. This Ford escape has been introduced in the year of 2001. This has entered the market as two row mid size SUV segment.
Ford Escape has been designed in the collaboration with Mazda and it shares many of the components with Mazda Tribute and along with this Mercury Mariner. 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid is awarded as the most fuel efficient Sport Utility Vehicle sold in the United States, this version of front wheel drive transports for about 34 cities and gives around 30 highway miles per gallon.
Other version of Ford is four wheel drive version can transports for the cities for about 29 and the fuel efficiency is about 27 highways. The Non- Hybrid version of the Ford Escape is available in the market which is having capacity of either 2.4 liters of four cylinder or of the capacity about 3.0 liters of six cylinder.
Because of all these features the Ford Escape is rewarded as the most fuel efficient sport utility vehicle on the earth. This is because Ford Escape Hybrid gives great gas mileage. This is the world’s best demand closer in inspection
The Ford Escape Hybrid is prepared with an engine of around 2.2 liters of i-CTDi. This is common rail turbo diesel engine. This 2008 FWD ford escape is rated for transport for around 34 cities and efficiency is 30 highways and 32 combined by the US spec.
Where as the 2008 4WD Ford Escape Hybrid is rated for around 29 cities and the fuel efficiency of about 27 highways and combined with 28. These are the actual figures from autobytel.com on fuel consumption and mileage;
2008 Ford Escape Hybrid Gas Mileage: 34 mpg city / 30 mpg highway Engine: 4 Cylinder, 2.3 Liter, 133 HP Wheels: Alloy Wheels, 16-In. X 7-In. Torque: 124 @4250 Seating: 5 Side Airbags: Standard ABS Brakes: Standard Towing Capacity: 1000 Wheelbase: 103.1 Price Quote $26,505
2008 Ford Escape Hybrid 4WD Gas Mileage: 29 mpg city / 27 mpg highway Engine: 4 Cylinder, 2.3 Liter, 133 HP Wheels: Alloy Wheels, 16-In. X 7-In. Torque: 124 @4250 Seating: 5 Side Airbags: Standard ABS Brakes: Standard Towing Capacity: 1000 Wheelbase: 103.1 Price Quote $28,255
These specs are much more than that of the other sport utilities vehicles. Therefore if you wanted to drive the four wheel drive in the city then you have to think only for Ford Escape the difference between the front wheel drive and four wheel drive is about weight. The diesel powered FWD is the fuel efficient than that of the Escape Hybrid or Honda CR-V.
These all are the estimate which clearly shows that the Gas Mileage Ford Escape is the most efficient and gives the most fuel efficiency than any other Sports Utility Vehicle.

Buses Named Most Fuel-efficient U.s. Transportation Mode

Nathan Associates, a consulting firm, announced that buses are the most fuel-efficient transportation mode in the United States. The report showed that motor coaches offered 148.4 passenger miles per gallon in 2004.
This figure shows that the mode of transportation is doing its share in the reduction of fuel consumption of the country. A bus capacity to accommodate a huge number of persons made them the most fuel-efficient mode of transportation.
The sector though is suffering from the declining number of passengers which is due to the advent of air travel which have become cheaper. This takes a lot of passengers fore this mode of transportation in the U.S. While there may be lesser passengers on today’s inter-city buses compared in the past, the sector still provides good fuel savings for the country.
According to the study, the second most fuel efficient sector is inter-city trains which provided 74.1 passenger miles per gallon. Air carriers meanwhile also offered 40.9 passenger miles per gallon. Automobiles only achieved 35.4 passenger miles per gallon for the same year.
The American Bus Association President, Peter J. Pantuso, has this to say about the result of the study: “As energy conservation and environmental issues take center stage in Congress and with the traveling public, the motor coach industry is proud to be the leader in transportation fuel efficiency. Motor coaches are striving to do their part to help the U.S. achieve energy security.”
This study shows that even as the auto industry is developing ways to increase fuel efficiency, other sectors are already providing good value for the amount of fuel that they consume. This also shows that every sector in the U.S. is doing its share to support the administration’s goal to reduce fuel dependence on other countries.
The sector will be a good help in making President Bush’s “Twenty in Ten” program. While most buses today are running on petroleum diesel, their switch to biodiesel is forthcoming. This means that the sector can increase their efficiency and at the same time take care of the environment. As the country strives to address the global warming issue, the sector is in a position to help out in the goal.
According to the study, “the motor coach transportation service industry is the number one people mover. In 2005 the industry carried 631,000,000 passengers in the United States and Canada alone. The motor coach transportation service industry carries one-fourth more passengers than the airline industry and twice more than Amtrak and commuter rail combined.” The buses employed by the industry are even more fuel efficient than automobiles equipped with performance enhancing aftermarket parts like Saturn cold air intake system.

Get the most MPGs out of your Prius

So you’ve just gotten a new Prius and want to learn how to maximize the car’s fuel efficiency? Some Prius owners have become Jedi level masters of Prius fuel efficiency, and these “hyper milers” use a few tried and true methods to get their MPGs up in the 50s, 60s, or even 70s, while one infamous Prius driver has even gotten the car to achieve an outrageous 100 miles per gallon. So how do they do it? Well, if you really want to get those big MPG numbers, you’re going to have to give up your led footed ways. When accelerating, do it gradually, gently lifting your foot from the pedal as you drive. You can gently reapply pressure to the pedal if you need to accelerate more or begin to lose speed, but avoid mashing the pedal down if you want to achieve maximum mileage. Once you reach a desired speed, try and “glide” at that speed without accelerating as much as you can…. if you are going downhill, coast as much as you can and you will get better mileage. Also, try to not turn the engine on and off… short trips from cold stops will reduce your MPGs. If you are stopping for just a few moments, leave the car idling if you are confident it won’t get stolen. The Prius is the rare car th
The Five Most Practical Eco Gifts

There are all types of eco-friendly gifts. There are eco friendly products for the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom; the garden, the work place and the office – every room in the house.
However, not all eco products are the same many are practical methods of saving us money and reducing our impact on the environment. Others however offer other reasons for buying them. A pure wool duvet for instance provides unequalled warmth and pleasure during a night’s sleep whilst other eco-gifts are just novelties:
Some Eco Toy’s are just Novelties
But there are plenty of eco friendly products out there that are not only practical, good for the environment and can save us money – they can quite often be a better than the alternatives! Here are my five – Most Practical Eco Friendly Products:
5. Clothes Airer
They may be quaint and hark back to the good old days of mangles and scrubbing but a clothes airer is about as practical as you can get if you need to dry your clothes. Not only can they be hung almost anywhere, they prevent the need for placing clothes all over the radiators and the cost savings compared with a tumble dryer are phenomenal.
4. Radiator Panels
A simple but ingenius method of boosting the power output of the radiators. Available as foil or panels they reflect the heat that would normally soak into the back wall – back into the room. Can reduce bills by 15%.
3. Solar chargers
Powering all those gizmos, gadgets and even laptops by the power of the sun not only means it is free it also means your laptop, mp3 player of mobile can be charged anywhere.
2. Energy Monitor
One of the easiest methods of saving money is to identify what you are wasting. Electricity monitors can help you identify areas of waste and high usage meaning energy monitors pay for themselves when your quarterly bills arrive.
Energy Monitors are Extremely Practical
Whilst not the most exciting energy saving or eco friendly product the humble energy saving light bulb is helping to drastically reduce the nation’s power consumption. En mass as more and more people switch to them the nation’s carbon footprint is reducing.

Most people want to find a way that they can save gas mileage, especially with the high gas prices these days. You could go out and buy one of the hydrogen hybrid vehicles but most of these cost around $50,000, which most people can’t afford to buy. So, how can you make your existing vehicle save gas like the hydrogen hybrid vehicles do?
There are a couple of different ways that you can save gas like the Hydrogen Hybrid vehicles do. You need to choose the method that you are going to use carefully. So, do research about these different ways before you decide the best for you to use.
One: The most obvious way to have a car save gas like the Hydrogen Hybrid cars do is to buy one of these vehicles. This is a good idea for the people that can afford it.
Two: Do it yourself. This may sound impossible but it is not really when you learn how to do it correctly. You can find a generator kit that will help you save gas like the Hydrogen Hybrid does. These kits will produce electrolysis, which is where the water is split into one part oxygen and two parts hydrogen by using your car’s electrical system. From one gallon of water you can easily produce almost 2000 gallons of hydrogen gas for your vehicle. By using a kit to convert your car you will be able to save gas mileage and money.
Three: You can also get a generator kit that will you can hire someone to add to your vehicle for you. Find someone that you trust and discuss with them what they will do before you hire them to do the work.
No matter what way you choose to use, you need to make sure you do your homework before you decide. Buying a new Hydrogen Hybrid is not always smart for some people but if it is not then you now know what you can do so you can save gas mileage like these vehicles do.
The best place to learn and research what you need to know is to go online to look. There is a lot of information that will help you decide. So, give yourself time so you can find the best way for you to use so you can save on gas mileage like the Hydrogen Hybrid vehicles do.

Smart Fortwo is the Most Fuel Efficient Gasoline Car Available
June 15, 2010 by admin
In the rush to purchase fuel-efficient hybrid cars, consumers can overlook some of the smaller, lightweight gas cars that can deliver exceptional fuel economy. While hybrids certainly lead the way in efficiency, the premium price consumers must pay for these vehicles can be a real turn off.
The most fuel efficient gasoline powered car is the Smart Fortwo, a tiny two seater produced by Germany’s Daimler AG. The car has been sold for several years in Canada, but only recently became available in the US. Powered by a 61 cubic foot three cylinder engine, the Smart Fortwo is by far the smallest car on the road, at least a foot shorter than the MINI Cooper.
The advantage of the Fortwo is in its highway fuel economy, where the car achieves 41 mpg according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). That number puts the Fortwo fifth on the list of fuel efficient models, behind several hybrid and diesel models, but at the top of the gasoline powered car heap.
“The smart fortwo demonstrates there are options, other than hybrids, when seeking excellent fuel economy at a time when fuel prices have been at a historic high,” said Dave Schembri, president of smart USA. “This vehicle has a low cost of ownership starting under $12,000 and is one of the most ecological vehicles on the road today, not only for its environmental friendliness, but also for its compact size in an age of increasing urban congestion.”
The diminutive Fortwo has also been certified as an Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for its exceedingly low exhaust emissions. It is also certified by EPA as a “Smartway” vehicle, which indicates good environmental performance, placing it among the “greenest” vehicles available on the market.
The component materials and the manufacturing processes used to produce it clearly demonstrates the ecology of the Smart Fortwo. For example, 95% of the vehicle is recyclable, and the dash material is made from recycled synthetics. Moreover, the “smartville” factory in France, where the vehicle is manufactured, is considered to be one of the most modern and environmentally friendly plants on the globe.
Besides the Smart Fortwo, there are several other gasoline powered cars that are larger, but get very good gas mileage, particularly on the highway. The Chevrolet Cobalt XFE commands 37 mpg as does the MINI Cooper, while the Toyota Yaris returns 36 mpg. Among hybrids, the Toyota Prius returns 45 mpg on the highway, but 48 mpg around town. The most fuel efficient diesel is the Volkswagen Jetta which gets 41 mpg on the highway.
The biggest advantage of the Smart Fortwo besides its fuel efficiency is its price. With an MSRP of $11,590, the Fortwo offers class leading fuel economy along with a class leading price advantage.
