4.9L Multi-port EFI V8 OHV 1993 Cadillac Deville Touring 1607 curb weight after changing driving techniques i was able to achieve significantly higher mileage than the factory 17city/19hwy main points to achieving hypermiling is to time your stops: try to start coasting at a distance that would bring you to idle speeds just before you come to the stop, also it is very important not to “play” with your throttle: while on even ground find the correct amount of throttle to maintain the speed limit and instead of trying to maintain the speed limit try to maintain the throttle position while going up and down hills, also try using your cruise controls to accelerate most vehicle will accelerate this way very efficiently although with my car i would smoke most japanese tuners if i tried this because it has a very aggressive throttle, i think the throttle control may be defective side note i am looking to in the future create a hybrid out of this vehicle with two rear drive electric motors being charged by a custom turbo system that generates energy from the exhaust portion of a turbo as well as re cog braking Camera:Olympus SP-800UZ

4.2 Liter Engine in the 2009 Trailblazer Gets Good Gas Mileage

After producing the Chevrolet Trailblazer for nine years from 2002 to 2009, General Motors discontinued operation and production of the Trailblazer and opted against the production of the 2010 Trailblazer. This was largely due to a budget cuts across General Motors. While it was in production, the Trailblazer was a very popular choice for those people looking for an American made medium size SUV.
The most recently produced Trailblazer was the 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer, which came with two engine options. The first engine option came standard with the Trailblazer LT and was a 4.2 liter and six cylinder engine. This engine produces 270 horsepower and 275 pound feet of torque. For a medium size SUV, this engine option has decent fuel efficiency. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates the 4.2 liter engine averages 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 miles per gallon on the highway.
For those looking for more power out of their Trailblazer, the 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer could be upgraded to an SS trim, which came standard with a 6.0 liter and eight cylinder engine. This V6 engine produces an impressive 345 horsepower and 380 pound feet of torque. While the power of the engine is improved with the V8, fuel efficiency takes a hit. The EPA estimates the 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer gets 12 miles per gallon in the city and 16 miles per gallon on the highway.
All Chevy Trailblazer trims comes standard with two wheel drive and a limiting four speed automatic transmission.
One key difference between the 2009 Chevy Trailblazer and past model is the lack of a medium size engine. Previous Trailblazer owners could also select a 5.3 liter eight cylinder engine, which was more powerful than the 4.2 liter engine, but had better fuel efficiency than the 6.0 liter engine.
