HHO Cell Cars – Imagine Feeling Calm When Everyone Else’s Panics When the Gas Prices Rise!

August 31, 2010 by

The world has been hearing about the HHO cell car for quite some time now and everyone wants to see it on the roads soon. But the fact is that these cars are already on the streets in many countries in the world like USA. Hydrogen cars have recently been launched by the leading car manufacturers BMW and General Motors. In fact thirteen such cars by General Motors can be spotted in Washington, which also includes six minivans.

Few car manufacturers like Toyota, Nissan, Daimler Chrysler and Honda have designed special hydrogen powered vehicles to be used in the Army. BMW has come up with its own series whereas Ford’s HHO car, “Focus” is still in the manufacturing stage.

You don’t need to worry about gas mileage once you own one of these cars. They help in cutting down on the fuel cost as hydrogen is cheap and affordable. However there is no need to panic if you can’t afford these cars, you can still get your car converted with the help of hydrogen fuel kits. The kit is reasonably priced and it is definitely a good investment considering its long term advantages.

General Motors is planning to launch few alternative hydrogen cars by 2010. These alternative cars are priced like other internal combustion cars but use hydrogen as fuel. There is severe shortage of hydrogen stations all over the world and for this Shell and General Motors have joined hands. Shell has been actively involved in setting up hydrogen fuel stations to meet the demand. The projection is that for every 200,000 cars, the world will need approximately 300 hydrogen stations.

You can notice a few hydrogen buses running in European cities like Amsterdam, Porto, Madrid, Stockholm, Stuttgart and London. They were launched in 2004 by Daimler Chrysler. Such hho cell-powered vehicles are expected to take over the automobile industry in the coming years!

A Green Travel Plan for Everyone and Every Trip

July 25, 2010 by

Simply put, green travel is travel in which a positive environmental impact is kept to a maximum and a negative environmental impact is kept to a minimum. Keeping your carbon footprint as tiny as possible while traveling will help preserve the entire planet, including that favorite vacation spot you always visit. That being said, traveling green sounds like something any traveler would be interested in, right? Right, but although many travelers may be interested in Green Travel it can seem a little intimidating or complicated and not everyone knows where to start. SO, I put together this Green Travel Plan that makes traveling green easy for anyone, no matter what their shade of green. What’s even better is you don’t have to camp out in the jungle or hike from place to place to make an impact (unless of course, that’s what you’re into). Remember, every little bit counts and following any or all of these steps will add up to a world of change.

A Green Travel Plan for Everyone and Every Trip

Before You Go:
Help be a part of the solution by booking with a green organization like the Green Travel Hub by RezHub.com; they actually donate 20% of the proceeds from every trip to an environmental group so that every trip can make a difference. They donate whether the travel you choose is labeled green or not.

Consider booking with Green Travel Options like green hotels, hybrid rental cars, and carbon offsetting programs. RezHub also offers all these programs.

When renting a car, choose Enterprise. They not only have the largest selection of hybrid and fuel efficient cars available for rent, they also take huge steps for the environment. They’ve pledged to plant 50 million trees over the next 50 years, they donate millions to alternative fuel research, and the list goes on.

Look for hotels with a green certifications or a “Green Score.” In the Green Score program, hotels can earn points and Green Branches for each environmental program they have in place. While some hotels may only have one leaf, keep in mind that even one leaf is a step in the right direction. It’s important to support the green efforts that each hotel takes because it shows management that they are doing the right thing, and it encourages further expansion of green programs. Remember, where one leaf sprouts, another is sure to follow!

Offset your Carbon Footprint. Choosing to go carbon neutral is one of the gateways to responsible travel. It’s easy to do, and it’s inexpensive! We suggest offsetting your carbon footprint with Sustainable Travel International and MyClimate. Their program is the best we’ve seen in that it’s comprehensive and supports both kinds of offsetts. They’ll let you calculate your exact offset, or you can choose a standard donation from $1 all the way up to $500.

While You’re There:
Plan to green-up your stay, and feel good about where you’re going. These are some really simple steps you can take to help green up your stay, even if you didn’t book with a Green Scored Hotel
• Encourage the hotel you chose to go green or thank them for the green programs that they participate in! Speak with the management and let them know that green options are important to you.
• If your hotel has a sheets and towels reuse program, use it. If they don’t, start your own! Let housekeeping know that you don’t need them to replace your sheets and towels every day; this will reduce energy and water usage.
• Turn off the lights, air conditioner or heater, and the electronics in your room while you’re out. • Turn off the water when you brush your teeth, and take shorter showers.
• Bring your own toiletries, or if you use what the hotel provides make sure to take what’s leftover home with you.

Take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints…
• When you’re visiting a park or any natural setting, don’t disturb the plants or wildlife. • Never buy anything made from an endangered animal or plant.
• Make sure you save any trash until you find a garbage can, and wherever possible save your recyclables for a recycling drop-off. Check out http://www.earth911.org to find a recycling drop off center in the US.

Go local…
• Whenever you can, shop and buy from the local vendors. This helps support the local economy, and submerges you in the areas culture.
• Try to avoid the large chains that carry goods shipped in from overseas. All that shipping creates tons of CO2 and the large chains can push the locals out of business (if you wanted to shop at Wal-Mart you could’ve stayed home, right?) .

Give back…
• Consider volunteering some time on your trip. Spending even just one day volunteering makes a difference. Contact not-profit organizations in the area and set something up before you go.
• Check out the Volunteer Travel Hub where you can find the perfect place to lend a hand. These bite-sized volunteer vacations (short term) are free and can be included on any trip!

When You Get Home:
Write a letter or send an email to the hotel you stayed in, the airline you flew and the rental car company you chose. Thank them for going green or encourage them to do so.

Send an email to greentravel@rezhub.com or post to RezHub.com’s Green Travel Forums, if you tell them about how you turned your trip green, you might even win a FREE trip!

Keep these tips in mind while you’re at home too, conserving resources almost always saves you green in the long run. And remember, it really is true that every little bit counts. If each of us took just one of these steps, imagine the difference it would make. I’ll end with a quote from Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

Free Hydrogen Fuel Cell Plans For Everyone!

May 4, 2010 by

Why would anyone need to make their own hydrogen generator to produce HHO gas? And what exactly is HHO gas…is it oxygen and hydrogen or something else?

HHO is actually made when you apply a small current of electricity thru water. This is often known as electrolysis and creates a gas that can burn quite efficiently, and is simple and cheap to do.

My neighbor made his very own hydrogen oxygen mix and then injected it into his automobile with the gas he already uses and seriously increased his fuel mileage. That was seven years ago!

HHO is 2 bonded oxygen atom in the presence of an oxygen atom and will mix with the atomized fuel you using your car to make that fuel have a larger surface area and so will combust more completely skyrocketing gas mileage.
It only takes a few hours and thousands of people all across the world have done it and are reporting dazzling gas mileage increases.

Imagine, taking standard tap water and creating a burnable gas out of it with nothing more than the voltage from your battery and some parts form the hardware store…and it has been proved to work by the FTC, who originally set out to prove otherwise.

Oxygen Hydrogen, who knew? Actually, this has been around for almost a hundred years and in vehicles all around the world for over thirty years, long before the last gas crisis, which I am sure is due to make a come back real shortly.
amid growing worries about the negative environmental impact cars had in the world, alternative and clean fuel technologies became increasingly critical.
This has led vehicle makers to develop cross-breed gas-electric systems that have become extremely popular in the U. S. and abroad. Some innovative automakers are taking this idea a step further, researching zero emission clean fuel technologies such as hydrogen fuel cells. Fuel cell vehicles mix high pressure hydrogen gas with oxygen from the air in a chemical process that produces electricity.

The electricity is then stored in the fuel cells and is used to power an electrical motor. Due to its potency and cleanliness, hydrogen fuel cell technology has been heralded as the answer for zero-emission transport.
While this could appear like a high tech concept, Honda Motor Company is close to making it a reality with the limited release of the FCX clearness in regions of southern California. Approximately 200 of these cars will be leased to customers for three year terms at $600 a month, which includes all maintenance for the car. Initial research has proven that the automobile experiences much less damage than the standard internal combustion gas engine. This will end in both low fuel and maintenance costs for customers.
In order to make hydrogen fuel cell technology reasonable worldwide , further development of inexpensive parts, manufacturing processes, and fueling stations is necessary. The cost of materials and production of the fuel cells needed to power the vehicles raises the retail price to a point that is out of reach for a majority of patrons. Also, public refueling stations are absurdly expensive to produce and maintain.
it is critical for many zero-emission technologies to become viable in the very near future to preserve our car culture.
Why not get your own vehicle running on hydrogen – you can build your own hydrogen fuel cell at home from each day items and save over thirty percent on your fuel bill.

Is everyone afraid of a real “Green Police” being formed?

I thought one of the funniest ads during the Super Bowl was the one for the “Green Police. I laughed out of my chair and almost DIED at that one!! (The end of it was a “Green Policeman” asking REAL policemen to ‘step out of the car, please’.)

Are we getting close to forming government-run ‘storm troopers’ that police us while we go thru living our lives? And being “ticketed or fined” for NOT being “eco-conscience”??

So everyone wants us to cut back on gas and start to use hybrids?

March 15, 2010 by

So when I turn on the T.V. they tell me to stop using so much power. But if everybody plugged in hybrids we would be using gas & an extra abundance of energy. If we go back to the horse and carraige its animal cruelty. I really wish people would make up their minds. Sometimes I just say to myself damnit just let me be, the only way solve the problem would be to ride a bike. I just want to hear what the people think we should do?

13 Easy Green Living Tips for Everyone

March 9, 2010 by

To live green means to help our environment from the dangers that are destroying it. Green living starts with each of us. Here are just few easy tips to help you get started.

1. Switch to fluorescent bulbs in areas where extended lighting is required. Though the initial price is higher than for incandescent bulbs, fluorescent lights produce four times as much light per watt, last up to ten times as long and therefore cost one-third as much to operate.

2. Consider getting a laptop. Laptops use 50 percent of the energy used by a typical desktop PC when plugged in and just 1 percent of the energy when running on batteries.

3. Shut down and unplug idle electronics. Your computer might be asleep, but if there’s a light on, it’s still using energy. Turn off and unplug your computer, printer, television, radio — any electronic device that you’re not using.

4. Keep your car in great condition. Of course, it’s best to walk, bicycle, carpool or use mass transit for your daily commuting, but for those who must use their own vehicles, improving even the most inefficient of cars’ fuel mileage is as easy as keeping your tires properly inflated and changing your oil and air filters regularly. And follow those traffic laws — your car burns less fuel when you drive slowly and obey the speed limit on highways.

5. An idling vehicle burns more fuel than a simple restart. If it’s clear that a train or other barrier will block your vehicle for more than 30 seconds, turn off the engine. An idling vehicle burns more fuel than a simple restart. And you won’t be polluting when the engine is off.

6. Laundry activities are the second-biggest water user in a home. New water- and energy-efficient machines can save big on utility bills, and the technologies employed in those machines also can be gentler to your clothes, help you use less detergent and reduce drying time.

7. Turn your thermostat down – Turning your thermostat down by just one degree can result in savings of up to 10% on your fuel usage.

8. Wrapping a water heater with insulation can keep as many as 1,000 pounds of global-warming CO2 a year out of the upper atmosphere.

9. Pipe insulation tubes will help prevent frozen pipes in winter. And properly installed, they will hold a hot-water pipe’s heat for up to an hour after the tap was last used, thus stretching your energy dollar and saving water.

10. Older showerheads can use three gallons per minute or more. New, efficient models can use two GPM or less. Also look for showerheads that deliver water in multiple small streams, rather than a fine mist; they keep water warmer and make rinsing easier. Avoid designs with multiple heads that compound water waste.

11. Reduce, Re-use, Recycle! – Its doesn’t take a whole lot of effort to reduce the amount of waste we produce or to recycle the waste we do produce.  Paper products, plastics and metals are all easily disposed of by taking them to the local recycling centre. You can recycle old batteries to use again in the home and most of the food waste from the kitchen can be used to make your own compost, especially useful if your already growing your own vegetables.

12. Food grown or produced halfway around the world didn’t just appear in the supermarket — it was shipped by plane, boat, truck or rail, and no matter which method of transportation it took, greenhouse gases were emitted along the way. Pick the apple grown in your state instead of the banana grown in another country.

13. Plant a tree. It seems simple, but just one tree can offset tons of carbon over its lifetime. If planted appropriately, it also will provide shade on a sunny day, perhaps reducing the use of energy for air-conditioning in buildings and homes.
