Demand for Green Eco-Cars Adding Auto Industry Jobs

As consumer demands for electric cars increase, so will jobs in green technology. The last five years have seen the auto industry handing out more pink slips than applications and even though it is agreed that the auto industry will most likely never return to its pre-recession employee numbers, the increasing popularity of environmentally friendly vehicles will see some jobs return.
According to information from Des Rosiers Automotive Consultants, in 2001, it there were 199,218 Canadians working in the auto industry. In 2009, a 7 per cent drop to 133,375 was noted and in April of 2010, there were an estimated 123,829 Canadians employed by the industry.
The Electrovaya Mississauga, Ontario plant is currently hiring engineers to help produce the lithium-ion batteries that run these green, eco-machines. Gitanjali DasGupta, manager of Electrovaya’s electric vehicle division says, “Every auto company is looking to green their fleets, to electrify their fleets. (The industry) is truly making a very structural shift. Electrovaya is an enabler of that and one of the key beneficiaries of that.”
Due to high expectations in the demand for green cars, Linamar Corp, which is Canada’s second largest manufacturer of auto parts in Guelph, intends to hire as many as 1,300 people by the end of 2011. Linda Hasenfratz noted in a recent interview that these numbers are the result of the consumer’s demand for the manufacturing of solar energy parts as well as to build more fuel-efficient cars.
Carlos Gomes, automotive economist at Scotiabank feels, “The next generation of jobs in the Canadian auto industry won’t come from the big automakers’ assembly plants, but from suppliers that develop innovative new technologies. I think that is one of the key trends going forward, especially because we now have legislation in place that requires the automakers to improve their overall fuel efficiency,” Gomes said.
The employment boost from the demand in green technologies won’t be felt until around 2015. “Certainly there will be an advantage from green (technology), but that’s not going to be instantaneous. We don’t expect to see massive impacts from green for some time,” says Bill Pochiluk, president of industry research firm AutomotiveCompass.
In April 2010, the Canadian and U.S. governments made a joint announcement regarding the new auto standards which include an increase of 40 per cent on fuel-efficiency and a 25 per cent reduction of greenhouse emissions within the next six years. These new compliances will put a strain on older cars that are still on the road, but putting in some environmentally friendly repairs in an attempt to upkeep is cheaper than altogether replacing your car.

Demand For Hybrid Cars Continues To Rise

The number of hybrid cars registered in America last year set a record. The high cost of gasoline is one reason for the surge in demand, but other elements are technology and variety, KMBC’s Micheal Mahoney reported. “Now that we’re looking at $4 a gallon gas, these are up to about 35 to 40 percent of our sales,” car dealer Ray Adams said. Hybrid vehicles have smaller gasoline engines that are supplemented by electric motors, which are recharged. The electric batteries for the hybrids are now coming with longer warranties and replaceable elements. However, folks need to change the way the drive to improve the mile-per-gallon ratio. “Smooth (driving) — not really punching it, is the best way if you want to get 45 to 50 miles per gallon,” Adams said. While most car sales went down in 2007, hybrid registration jumped up 38 percent. Overall, hybrids are 2 percent of the American market. The Toyota Prius is the dominant hybrid vehicle in America, but there are more models than there used to be.

Fuel Sipping Cars
We eye it on the news daily now, read about the experimental investigations that are currently initiated. Global warming did not just crawl up on the world, the gradual increase in temperatures and the rapid depletion of our ozone layer. With our ocean levels greater than heights never seen before and the polar caps liquefying away, maybe the possible extinction of the world’s polar bears, people are now taking in the real danger our earth is certainly in. The complete world and the fate of generations rest on the way we figure out our problems today.
Fuel savers are becoming more popular and on demand due to the environmental depression we are now facing. Our economic issues also play a big part for people not wanting SUVs or trucks. Job loss and joblessness are at an all-time high, some people cannot afford to buy the fuel that these bigger vehicles require. An energy efficient means of transportation, such as a battery-operated or electric vehicle will save you money. Many types of fuel-saving cars can get over 70 miles to the gallon.
Car companies realize the new request and must reform a lot of the ways that they have been previously manufacturing automobiles. The earth is getting greener. Corporations and bio-fuel companies have to join in.
The technology of fuel-saving cars is briskly progressing. States of the government admit the urgent need to finally get a hold on the situation. Going green will not just go away in a few years. All people must adapt to a whole new habit of thinking, of living, and of rehabilitating our planet. We are all in some way at fault, no body’s totally innocent. The question is: Can mankind work as hard together in repairing as we have together in destroying? Acquiring a fuel-saving car is one little way you, as an individual, can help out.

Keen Demand For Diy Hydrogen Car Kits
May 1, 2010 by admin
There’s a boom going on in the motor vehicle field as increasing numbers of motorists convert their vehicles with hydrogen car kits.
The system is often referred to as “running your car on water”.
It uses water to produce HHO (also known as Hydroxy or Brown Gas). It provides greatly increased fuel consumption, more power and improved performance. The end product is water so there is clear emission.
The kit works on gas or diesel powered cars, vans, trucks and SUVs. The conversion is safe, fast and easy to do. All that is needed is a conversion manual. The parts for the kit can be easily purchased for less than $100 at local hardware and auto stories.
The HHO system is easily reversible and does not void auto manufacturers’ warranties.
With new car sales currently at a low it is likely even more current vehicle owners will take advantage of the savings offered by the hydrogen conversion kit.
The new hydrogen powered cars produced by auto manufacturers are expensive. Critics says they are possibly dangerous because they store hydrogen in high pressure tanks. There is also the problem of getting hydrogen supplies at service stations and the possible polluting effect of manufacturing hydrogen.
The hydrogen car kits however provide hydrogen as the car needs it, rather than in storage tanks. The combustible gas is safe because it is extracted as needed and burned steadily from the water, unlike larger volumes of pure hydrogen which are highly flammable.
I’ve seen some service station operators offering to do the conversion for $1000 which I think is a bit steep when you consider you can do it yourself for less than $100, plus the cost of the instruction manual.
The instructions manuals can cost hundreds of dollars but I’ve been shopping around.
The very best deal I’ve seen for a Hydrogen Car Kit instruction manual is a special sales price of only $67 which has got be the cheapest on the Net.
Believe it or not it comes in 24 languages, with a money back guarantee and various very useful extras. The company even provides tax forms for you to claim government rebate for running a green car.
But it’s not just the cool instruction manual price. Also their system is more powerful than most and they provide good long term back-up support.
I believe this whole current conversion scene is all part of global automotive history.
It’s ironic that while giant car industries are almost collapsing because they have done little to keep pace with the times, ordinary people using a few dollars and some initiative are leaving them standing.
So if you want to save like 50 per cent on fuel costs, boost your vehicle performance, reduce vehicle emissions and help prevent global warming get a kit.
There is also another possibility. You could start a full or part-time business doing hydrogen car kit conversions yourself. I think the company concerned would probably be supportive of that.
Something to think about in these hard economic times. You would save heaps on your own fuel costs and make money installing the kits for other people.

How to Increase Mileage Over 40% With Hod (hydrogen on Demand)
April 28, 2010 by admin
Since Roger Billings (aka “hydrogen man”; and “Dr. Hydrogen” by Time magazine 2003) built the very first hydrogen powered automotive in 1965, hydrogen cars have come a long way. You could simply walk into a car sale and buy a:
• BMW Hydrogen 7
• Mercedes-Benz F cell
• GM Hy-wire or a
• Mazda RX-8 Hydrogen RE
However the price tags of these cars are currently beyond the reach of the average American citizen. However, recently scientists have created a “conversion kit” thanks to an nearly a century old patented technology that was under the radars (or forced to stay under the radars). This conversion kit makes it possible for regular cars, vans, SUVs, or even trucks, both petrol and diesel, to be converted to run on hydrogen.
The MAGIC KIT
The converted car would be slightly different from Roger Billings’ hydrogen vehicle, as these cars don’t need a hydrogen storage tank. This new technology produces hydrogen onboard the car only when necessary and therefore termed ‘Hydrogen On Demand’ (HOD) technology. Another difference with HOD is that it doesn’t power the engine totally on hydrogen, but simply provides additional energy to gasoline. The technology has been patented over 50 times by different scientists; the very first patent overmore than 70 years old. A few examples are: US Patent 4,573,435 (Glen Shelton: Apparatus and method for generating hydrogen gas for use as a fuel additive in diesel engines); United States Patent 4,380,970 (Roy Davis: Combustion engines); and United States Patent 4,256,060 (Donald Kelly: Manifold hydrogen generator units for automotive I.C. engines).
Why convert?
Because there are claims of doubling of mileage in Corollas, 60MPG Ford Escorts so on and so forth with HOD technology!
OBVIOUSLY, I found the whole concept pretty disturbing and hard to believe. But, I knew that “everything that sounds too good to be true isn’t necessarily fake”. During the 19th century, people wouldn’t have believed that man would step on the moon or would read news on a computer monitor like you’re doing just now, but all those things did happen.
This is when I started to research on HOD and this is a glimpse of what I found:
• President George Bush talking on the benefits of Hydrogen on CNN
• Fox news item about it
• WYFF4 talking about it
• MSNBC news item about it
• Iceland’s buses running on hydrogen
• 2200 Japanese homes are hydrogen powered
• Denmark has a hydrogen power plant
So what do you think? Hydrogen will save you 40% gas?
I am a scientist too, so I did a lot of in-depth research about the HOD technology. The age-old technology was made available in the public domain in 2006 resulting in the market being flooded with HOD conversion kits. Some are scams; some promise more than what they can provide; and some work just fine. Water4gas is one such product. Saving as much as 40% of the gas costs is possible, but don’t believe everything you read. Make a scientific decision, read all about it’s SCIENCE with more than 22 references and proof, including amazing research from the MIT, US AIR FORCE and statements by NASA on http://www.water4gas-scam.com
