Green living in college?

I’m a current college student in Oklahoma. I live in the dorms, and I don’t have a car, so I walk everywhere. I’m thinking about getting an electric skillet so I can cook a little (I miss cooking!), and there are two natural-foods stores within walking distance.
What are some things I can do? I’m especially interested in real food, but I’m somewhat trapped by reliance on my meal plan. I’d also love to hear anything even remotely connected, either that I could use now, or that I could keep in mind for when I get out of college.
Thank you!
Luke B: I’m not a socialist. Actually I consider myself a conservative. I don’t know where you got that anyway, since all I asked for was things I could do, not not how to make others do them. If you don’t have an answer, don’t answer.
What is the best fuel efficient small car for a college student?

I am a college student looking to spend as little as possible on gas. Have money saved up and parents will help a little with down payment so price isnt TO big of an issue but definitely something less than $18,000. Daily Commute is 10 minutes and i sometimes ride my bike, but take longer trips on the weekend to L.A which is about 30 mintues to an hour away. If you have a small fuel efficient car and had a good or bad experience let me know! thank you!
