Hybrid Cars: The tAX Benefits.

When you’re learning about something new, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of relevant information available. This informative article should help you focus on the central points.

Hybrid cars are one of the latest innovations in the car industry today. Because of the rising cost of fuel, car manufacturers have integrated the hybrid technology in their cars. The concept of the hybrid engine technology is actually very simple to explain. Although hybrid cars still use fuel, it can efficiently save it. This is because the hybrid technology combines the electric motor technology with the gasoline engine.

With the hybrid technology, it allows consumers to save as much as 30 miles a gallon on fuel. The main advantage of hybrid cars is when the car stops or when it is running on idle mode, it automatically shuts off the gasoline engine. However, the car will continue running but it will run on the electric motor. Therefore, it saves a lot on fuel. Just imagine being stuck on traffic, with the hybrid technology, you will never waste precious and expensive fuel when the car is running idle. This is also the reason why hybrid cars are so quiet when it is stationary. When you step on the accelerator, the gasoline engine automatically turns on again.

Another reason why hybrid cars are now preferred by most people is that it emits lower levels of toxic emissions. This means that hybrid cars are environmentally friendly. Just imagine, if all people would start using hybrid cars, it wOULD lessen the emission of carbon monoxide. For this reason, it will effectively stop global warming.

Is everything making sense so far? If not, I’m sure that with just a little more reading, all the facts will fall into place.

Because hybrid cars can both help in saving precious fuel and reduce the emission of toxic fumes, the government is now taking all the necessary steps to promote the hybrid technology. The consumer who owns a hybrid car can enjoy more benefits than you may imagine. Not only will they save a lot of money on fuel, and help produce a cleaner environment, but they can also enjoy tax rebates.

Back in 2005, the President of the United States signed an agreement that says that hybrid car buyers will be able to enjoy large amounts of tax relief. However, the amount of money you will save on the tax incentives will also vary on the hybrid car you purchase.

The first one you have to consider when getting a tax break is that it will depend on the fuel efficiency of the hybrid car you purchased when you compare it to a conventional car in the same weight class manufactured back in the year 2002. The more it saves fuel, the bigger the tax break will be.

The tax break imposed on a hybrid car will also vary on the amount of gasoline that the hybrid car can save in its total years of operation when it is compared to a conventional car in the same weight class. The more gasoline it saves, the bigger your tax relief will be.

It is a fact that hybrid cars can be expensive. However, just think about the long term benefits that the hybrid car can give you. If you calculate overall total expenses of a hybrid car and compare it to the total expenses of a conventional car during its lifetime, you will see that you can save more money on fuel. You will also save money on taxes. You will see that purchasing a hybrid car is definitely a good investment that all people should consider.

Not only will you be able contribute in producing a cleaner environment and save a lot of money on precious, expensive and limited supply of fuel, but you will also save a lot of money on tax rebates for hybrid car buyers.

Don’t limit yourself by refusing to learn the details about “hybrid car”. The more you know, the easier it will be to focus on what’s important.

The author, Floyd Dorrance is a professional researcher of a variety of articles as well as being a car buff since his teen years.

The Suzuki SX4 is a compact car which has been developed and sold by Suzuki and Fiat since the 2006 model year, when it replaced the Aerio. The 2010 Suzuki SX4 comes with just one engine option, which is a small four cylinder engine which produces 150 horsepower. While the horsepower does not sound too impressive, it is more powerful than the average engine available in comparable affordable compact cars.

The Suzuki SX4 comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission and two wheel drive, although both features can be upgraded. New for 2010 is a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), which is available in the SX4 Sport SE and the GTS trims. The 2010 Suzuki SX4 can also be upgraded to include all wheel drive.

While the performance within the Suzuki SX4 engine is slightly more powerful than comparable affordable compact cars, fuel efficiency is below average. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the Suzuki SX4 gets 23 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway. If the consumer decides to upgrade to all wheel drive, fuel efficiency drops off slightly. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that fuel efficiency for the SX4, when coupled with all wheel drive, is 23 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway.

The engine options within the Suzuki SX4 have been pretty consistent since the car was first introduced in 2006, although the 2010 engine option is slightly more powerful than previous years. The biggest change to the 2010 Suzuki SX4 was the CVT transmission, which is new to this year’s model.

The Dodge Journey is Dodge’s first car-based SUV; the Journey is built on the Chrysler Sebring/Dodge Avenger platform. The Journey can be optioned with one of two engines: the base 2.4L 4 cylinder or an optional 3.5L 6 cylinder. The 2.4L 4 cylinder engine is a dual overhead cam unit with sequential fuel injection. The only transmission available is a 4-speed automatic with overdrive. The transmission delivers the engine’s power to the front wheels;the Journey is currently not available with all wheel drive when fitted with the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine. The engine delivers one hundred seventy-three horsepower at six thousand revolutions per minute, and torque output is one hundred sixty-six pound feet at four thousand revolutions per minute. The engine returns nineteen miles per gallon in city driving, and twenty-five miles per gallon on the highway.
These fuel economy figures are the best in the Journey’s class when comparing U.S. Environmental Protection Agency figures for each vehicle. The optional V6 engine returns sixteen miles per gallon in city driving, and twenty-four miles per gallon on the highway. Power figures for the V6 are two hundred thirty-four horsepower at six thousand four hundred revolutions per minute, and torque output is two hundred thirty-two pound feet at four thousand revolutions per minute. Other features found on the Journey include standard anti-lock brakes, a dvd/video entertainment system, power mirrors, power windows, and power locks. Storage bins under the front-passenger seat cushion and in the second row floor are unique to this vehicle class, and very useful.

GMC has given the Canyon two engine choices for 2010, a 2.9L 4 cylinder or a 3.7L 5 cylinder. The 4 cylinder is the Canyon’s base engine, and it produces a maximum of one hundred eighty-five horsepower. The 5 cylinder is the optional engine, and it produces a maximum of two hundred forty-two horsepower. The Canyon’s bed is six feet long, and has a payload capacity of one thousand four hundred forty-one pounds when equipped with either the four cylinder or five cylinder engine. The truck bed volume is forty-four cubic feet.
The four cylinder powerplant is a dual overhead cam unit which comes standard with a five speed manual transmission; a four speed automatic transmission is optional. The optional 5 cylinder unit also features a dual overhead cam valve train, and both the base and optional engines incorporate multi-point fuel injection in their designs. The Canyon can be ordered with either two wheel or four wheel drive. Fuel economy for the four cylinder is eighteen miles per gallon in city driving and twenty-four miles per gallon in highway driving; the optional 5 cylinder powerplant returns fuel economy figures of seventeen miles per gallon in the city and twenty-three miles per gallon on the highway. The GMC Canyon comes with a long list of standard features; air conditioning, anti-lock brakes, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and stability control are all standard features on the Canyon. Check Out the 3.6L Engine in the 2010 Chevrolet Transverse

October 17, 2010 by

The Chevrolet Traverse is a General Motors produced full-size crossover SUV which was first debuted with the 2008 model.  The Traverse was introduced to compete with the Ford Flex.  The Traverse is the first full-size crossover SUV produced by GM. The Traverse has done fairly well so far having sold over 90,000 SUVs in 2009 and the trend looks to continue.

The Traverse is well regarded and considered one of the best deals among all affordable full-size crossover SUVs.  The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse comes standard with a 3.6 liter, direct injection engine that produces 281 horsepower.  Adding an option dual exhaust can increase the horsepower to 288.  While there are no available engine upgrades in the Traverse, the 3.6 liter V6 engine is considered powerful enough by most of its drivers.

The Traverse comes standard with front wheel drive, although it can be upgraded to all wheel drive with an additional cost.  A six-speed automatic transmission comes standard in the 2010 Traverse.

Because of the direct fuel injection system, the 2010 Chevrolet Traverse is quite fuel efficient.  The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates the 2010 Traverse, coupled with front wheel drive, gets 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.  If the driver selects an all wheel drive upgrade, fuel efficiency drops off slightly.  The EPA estimates the 2010 Traverse with all wheel drive gets 16 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2010 Chevrolet Traverse has the same engine options as the 2009 model.  There are no plans for altering the engine options in future years.

Check Out the Powerful V8 Engine in the Chevy Express

October 14, 2010 by

The 2010 Chevrolet Express comes with enough engine options to fit the needs of any consumer. These engines range from mild daily driving engines, to huge V8 engines capable of handling the toughest payloads. In this article, we will look at a few of the engine options being offered by Chevrolet for the 2010 Express.

First up is the 4.8-liter V8. This engine outputs a generous 280 horsepower and 295 foot pounds of torque. These numbers are high enough for most people that use their van without trailers, or with small payloads. These numbers should allow this engine to pull around eight passengers with no problem. This engine also gets an EPA estimated 20 miles per gallon on the highway, and an EPA estimated 16 miles per gallon in the city. The block is cast entirely out of aluminum in order to help keep the weight of the van low. This engine is mated to a Chevrolet 4L60E 4 speed automatic transmission.

Next up is the mid range 5.3 liter Vortec V8. This engine pumps out a substantially higher number than the previous model at 310 horsepower and 334 foot pounds of torque. This engine gets an EPA estimated 10 miles per gallon in the city, and an EPA estimated 13 miles per gallon on the highway. This engine is also generally attached to a 4L60E transmission.

The next engine in the line is the huge 6.0 liter Vortec V8 engine. This engine puts out a whopping 323 horsepower and 373 foot pounds of torque. Those numbers are big enough to tow even the craziest payloads. You will never have to worry about the towing capability of your vehicle with this engine. This engine is designed to get a lot of low end torque, and since it is mated to a Chevrolet 4L80E, it is the perfect option for someone who does a lot of towing.

Check Out the Engines For the 2010 Chevy Aveo

October 9, 2010 by

Due to its very affordable price, the Chevy Aveo is one of the best selling small cars each year. Like most small affordable cars, the 2010 Chevy Aveo is not equipped with a powerful engine. The 2010 Chevy Aveo comes with a 1.6 liter four cylinder engine which produces only 103 horsepower and 107 pound-feet of torque. While the Aveo does not produce too much horsepower, consumer reviews mostly say the Aveo does well with the power it has.

The Chevy Aveo can also come as the Chevy Aveo5, but both trims use the 1.6 liter engine.

The 2010 Chevy Aveo comes standard with a four speed manual transmission, but a four speed automatic transmission can be purchased as an upgrade. Because of the weak engine, the Chevy Aveo has excellent fuel efficiency for a non-hybrid car. The Aveo with a manual transmission achieves 27 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway. The Aveo with an automatic transmission gets 25 miles per gallon in the city and 34 miles per gallon on the highway.

The engine within the 2010 Chevy Aveo is identical to the 2009 Chevy Aveo, which also has the 1.6 liter four cylinder engine.

While the car’s main selling point is its affordable price, which ranges from $12,000 to $15,000, the 2010 Chevy Aveo does rate well in other aspects. Like other cars in its class, the Aveo is considered fairly safe, although additional airbags were not added despite it being a consistent recommendation.

The 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt is an affordable small car, which can come with a price tag of just over $15,000.  Like most affordable small cars, the vehicle engine options are limited and lack a high performance option.  The 2010 automobile comes standard with a 2.2 liter, four cylinder engine which produces just over 140 horsepower.  While the Cobalt comes with a small engine, many reviews point that its acceleration is better than other comparable cars.  The carcan come with a supercharged engine which increases acceleration and horsepower.

The vehicle  comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission, but it can be upgraded to an electronic four-speed automatic transmission.  While the car does not have a high performance engine, its fuel efficiency is very economical.  The 2010 vehicle with a manual transmission gets 22 miles per gallon in the city, and 30 miles per gallon on the highway.  By upgrading to an automatic transmission, fuel efficiency increases to 24 miles per gallon in the city and 33 miles per gallon on the highway.  If the car owner opts for a turbocharged engine, fuel efficiency can fall by up to 20%.

The automobile can come in nine different trims in total.  Five of the vehicle  trims come as a two-door coupe and are the base coupe, LS coupe, 1LT coupe, 2LT coupe, and  SS Turbocharged.  The other five trims are four-door sedans and are base  sedan,  LS sedan, 1LT sedan, and  2LT sedan

The 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt uses the same engine as the automboile  has used since it was modified in 2007.  The engine was modified to allow for better fuel efficiency.
