Malibu Boats Auto Wedge

www.malibuboats.com The Malibu Boats Patented Power Wedge now features Auto Wedge which boosts performance and conserves fuel while pulling up or retrieving riders. Auto Wedge is another new innovative feature from Malibu Boats that will change your overall boating experience for the better. Auto Wedge, as it is appropriately named, automatically adjusts the Power Wedge to the neutral down position until the boat reaches the riders set-speed. This process allows the boat to get up to speed without the displacement of water the Power Wedge creates. This decreases the time it takes the boat to get on plane by 34%, reduces bow rise and improves fuel consumption by 30%. These results were recorded when Auto Wedge was independently tested by Medallion Instrumentation Systems and Indmar Marine Engines using the Advanced Wakeboard Preset.

New year, new trends
2011 will marry technology with tradition. Janus, the Roman god for whom the first month of the Gregorian calendar is named, has two heads — one looking forward to the future and another looking back to the past. That might make just him the most appropriate mascot for 2011′s emerging trends — a simultaneous embrace of technology, such as 4-D and social networks, and a fascination with quainter …

2010 Nissan Cube Auto Show Video – Kelley Blue Book

FOR MORE CAR VIDEOS & REVIEWS VISIT: www.kbb.com 2010 Nissan Cube. Drafting off the inroads made by other boxy small cars like the Scion xB and Honda Element, Nissan has finally seen fit to bring its previously Japan-exclusive Cube to the US. Now in its third generation the US-bound Cube is somewhat less cube-like, instead offering a cleaner, curvier take on the straight-edged people hauler theme. While eye-catching details like an asymmetrical tailgate and ultra-modern headlights make it easy to focus solely on design the Cube is meant for more than just looking at. The interior is supposedly inspired by the rounded contours of a jacuzzi and can accommodate five passengers in comfort thanks in part to sliding second row bench seat. Power comes from 122-horsepower four cylinder and a promised 30 miles per gallon performance should help endear the Cube to hipsters looking to save cash while rolling in style. US Auto Industry Seeks 25 Billion Dollar Bailout

December 10, 2010 by

The economy has rocked a lot of major industries in the last few months, but few have been hit quite as hard as the US auto industry. Top executives from Detroit’s big three automakers, GM, Ford, and Chrysler, went before Congress recently to plead for a 25 billion dollar bailout loan that is necessary to save the companies, whose sales have plummeted in the last year as consumers are purchasing fewer cars and looking to get more fuel efficient cars from foreign companies when they do buy new vehicles. The executives argued that without the stopgap loan, they would probably fold, which would cause an economic catastrophe as three million of autoworkers would be laid off within the year. Lawmakers on Capitol Hill were not sympathetic, taking the opportunity to vent frustration with the companies. Banking committee chairman Chris Dodd told the executives that their industry was “seeking treatments for wounds that I believe to a large extent were self-inflicted” after years of selling gas guzzling trucks and SUVs and resisting innovations in fuel efficiency. But Dodd added that “at a time like this, when our economic future is so tenuous, we must do all we can to ensure stability.” Senator Mike Enzi, a Republican from Wyoming, chimed in with his own criticism of the industry when he noted that the financial crisis “is not the only reason why the domestic auto industry is in trouble” and argued that “inefficient production” and

2011 Mercedes-Benz R-Class (2010 New York Auto Show)

November 29, 2010 by

Today at the 2010 New York Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz showed that it’s still behind the all-but-forgotten “Sports Tourer” when it unveiled the heavily restyled 2011 R-Class. The minivan-that-isn’ta-minivan has had a rough life up to this point. It was never really marketed well by Mercedes, and the droopy snout never really helped. Like Jennifer Gray though, it’s amazing what a new nose can do for you. The 2011 model adopts the automaker’s new corporate face with its larger three-pointed star resting inside that upright rectangular grille. It does just enough to butch it up and make the front end handsome. Although in profile, it does look a bit like an extended wheelbase Honda CRV with that sloping D-Pillar. Out back there’s also a revised rear bumper with integrated reflectors, new lenses and a new black diffuser below the bumper. Interior changes are small, and Mercedes only announced an R350 BlueTEC 4MATIC and R350 4MATIC model for the US for 2011. The 3.0 liter BlueTEC V6 with 210 horsepower and 400 ft-lb of torque is capable of 18/24 miles per gallon, giving it a range of more than 500 miles or just about two tankfuls to Wally World. Pricing wasn’t announced, but the new R-Class should be priced similar to the 2010 models, or $51675 for the R320 BlueTEC and $50175 for the R350 4MATIC.
