    2001 volkswagen sedan unificado (mexican vw beetle ) Circa 1939 engineering 4 cyclinder engine gets 35 city and we were geting 50mpg on the highway doing 70 against the wind!?! Explain that to me? how a car thats design hasnt changed much since the 30′s can do that when modern cars brag about 25-28 mpg on a 4 cyclinder engine…….. I think the companys are purposely doing it.

    i think more power is better for a fuel efficient vehicle. cause maybe the engine wont have to work as hard to push the car.

    I like the tractor. I got a 165 just like that. I also agree with your view of Hybrids. They are good for now but what happens when the batteries go? Just get a small normal car or like you say a diesel.

    So true, a diesel is good and fuel efficient on long distances and a hybrid on short inner city drives. I would go for a lpg car, it does a little bit less mpg but the fuel is half or a third of gasoline price in europe.

    @AMMW77 since when? You must be talking about the automatic, the standards have been bulletproof.

    I drive a diesel, 2001 dodge, still belches out black smoke but gets 21mpg. not bad for a 3/4 ton pickup. I make sure to blow a little black smoke on a prius everytime i go by, just doing my part!!! hahahahaha

    we have an 84 VW rabbit diesel that gets 51mpg..its not a bullet, but, we can get 510 miles on a tank. :-) We are also gonna add a hydrogen booster to increase that. Love the shirt to BTW.. i am also a beekeeper lol Love your stuff Dave! Good job!

    Fuck Hybrids, I get 16mpg city when babying my 350 Camaro. Its easy and inexpensive to maintain and of course, its fun to drive.

    a diesel may be better but most people only travel short distances and a diesel has to be running at operating temperature or your parts may not last as long..

  22. incompletehunter on September 7th, 2010 1:22 am

    i wish we had an abundance of diesel cars in the US

  23. punkmonkey123 on September 7th, 2010 2:01 am

    @mxrace709 With gas at around 3.00 here and diesel at 3.50 It isn’t enough to justify the extra cost once everything adds up. Besides, Diesel is getting harder and harder to find.

  24. mxrace709 on September 7th, 2010 2:13 am

    @punkmonkey123 wanna bet bitch

  25. punkmonkey123 on September 7th, 2010 3:01 am

    @mxrace709 So? Not enough MPG to justify the rising cost of diesel.
