Water-fuel car

category: Going Green

Water-fuel car unveiled in Japan Japanese company Genepax presents its eco-friendly car that runs on nothing but water. The car has an energy generator that extracts hydrogen from water that is poured into the car’s tank. The generator then releases electrons that produce electric power to run the car. Genepax, the company that invented the technology, aims to collaborate with Japanese manufacturers to mass produce it. Aired by Reuters on June 13 2008

well i guess its time for something new, something that wont harm our planet. . .i believe a filipino invented this concept, . .

this car is screwing oil companies, somebody is about to die

nope that was found to be a fraud.

a filipino daniel dingel invented this

filipino invented this water fueled car, japanse only copied the idea

The cell requires ruthenium and platinum which are pretty expensive catalysators, as fuel, and water is just part of the equation.

Reuters got it wrong. It’s an electric car with a water powered battery charger.

This is an exact title name from the Reuters feed.

    Please modify your video Title:
This is an electric car. The generator is just a water powered 300 watt battery charger.

none of the energy comes from the water though, it all comes from the metal-hydride membrane which will most likely be expensive to replace and the process to create it will be high-energy and not great for the environment. The water is nothing more than a chemical required for the process of extracting the energy from the metal-hydride to take place, like the electrolyte in a battery. Don’t get me wrong, is a good idea probably, but ‘water fueled’ is a bit rich..

No one is claiming that converting the water to energy produces FREE ENERGY.

Yes, we all know that this system REQUIRES energy to separate water into its component parts

It burns water instead of gasoline as its fuel.

And as of right now, seawater covers 70% of the earths surface and it doesn’t cost $4.59
    per gallon.

this might be propeganda,.although i guess it would be possible..iather way ,.. what a good time for this video to be found ^_^

friggen great if ya live in outback australia,,no water no fuel,,been a drought here for 8 years now,,

I have looked around, because i clearly have too much time on my hands :P .. The energy is produced by a metal-hydride, NOT the water! The fuel cell takes hydrogen and oxygen and produces the electricity (like any fuel cell, google it) but water doesnt break down into H and O easily, these cars have a metal-hydride component which chemically breaks the water down, this metal-hydride will be used up eventually and will need replacing, so, you don’t JUST need water.. not fake, not true either..

We haven’t been getting energy ‘from it’, if you are talking about water wheels etc then strictly that energy is from the weight of the water due to gravity. It is 2H-O, burning them together makes a huge amount of energy (think space shuttle) but breaking the water down into the 2H and the O takes just as much energy because water is so stable, i’m really interested to find out how this car actually works..

think about it matey H20 one part hydrogen 2 parts oxygen, its the purest fuel we have, of course we can get energy from it, we have done since man existed.

I don’t think this is ‘fake’ but is certainly twisting the truth, a car cannot run purely on water, water is one of the most stable compounds on earth, simply putting water into a tank cannot produce energy. It is possible to convert the water into hydrogen, but doing so REQUIRES energy, just as much if not more as you would get out. This video makes it seem too good to be true, so it probably is.

US car makers have had this technology for years, they’ve just been surpressing it. Now the market will probably be OWNED by the Japanese. Breaks my heart to say it, but we Americans are responsible. I only hope they do a better job as the world’s tech leader than we did.
