have your electricity shut off, get rid of you car, and live like the pioneers did with kerosene lamps and a wood burning stove for heat? Better grow your own food too, all that packaging just adds more to the landfills. A cooler filled with ice could be used for food.

I dont know about going that far, but simple recycling, short showers, and less electricity will help

I am willing to bet you a mickie dee’s lunch LOL that I live more green than you and all the people you know. I have lived on Solar Elec. for a little over 16 years now, no grid, no nothing except for my Satellite dish to allow me to use this computer. I have pretty much the same appliances as most houses, other then air conditioning , which is not practical on solar and of course elec. heating/cooking things. My stereo works when I want it to , and if there is anything worth watching on tv , it too works. Every-time you exhale a single breath you are contributing to green house gas. So what, that is why you want trees and plants to help clean that up. The only other solution is to quit breathing to save the environment. Kerosene lamps ? You must be kidding, the effect of 1,000 light bulbs can not do the damage that one kerosene lamp can do in a single hour, including ruining your eyesight. So, happily living on solar elect. with no bills coming in the mail at all. And you ?
I don’t live green because I am too lazy to worry about the environment.
