I would love to take a look inside. I’m 6’3 an am a bit on the Burly Side. Would I be comfortable driving it?

@efg36 I would love one. I am from DK.., also with insane fuel prices. Though I wouldn’t use it for daily driving. That would be way too expensive. :)

On my Youtube channel, I drive around with an Electric Smart in Berlin, Germany. Feel free to watch.

@Octamed “Also? electric from coal is a lot more efficient than petrol.” I am sorry, but that’s not true. True is that the big advantage of the electric motor is that it has a high degree of efficiency (of up to 80 percent) and that it delivers the same torque independent of the revs, but the overall degree of efficiency is not lower than that of an ICE. Also true is that the major share of electricity is generated by fossil fuels (oil, coal, gas). Where do you live?

  5. Octamed on June 1st, 2010 12:23 am

@joakimveyron who tested it to 80miles? On a race track for sure probably 80 miles, but I know people who have driven it normally for the full range.
Also electric from coal is a lot more efficient than petrol. Plus you get the bonus of being able to clean it at one spot which is way cheaper and more effective than cleaning it on the car it self. Also you have the option of using cleaner electricity as it comes on line. eg my home state is 100% hydro power.

A sensible solution for the future. I have a gas smart and, although it’s small and wind sensative, it is cheap to get around and easy on the eye. A battery unit would be a nice upgrade to my vehicle. A little more power and cruise control and they would be set.

i’d like to do the same to my “chevy aveo 2007 5speed” but i would like to use
a bedini motor, or for of thim to battery charger as i drive down the rood.

i have looked up bedini motors on u-tube and most will put out 200 to 300 ACv.
and some people put ac inverters on thim.

so what i would like to know is thair a way to make a ac inverter that
runs on ac and not dc?

thats if you know and all so thanks for your time.

@kostea13 What does someone from Romania know about EVs or what do Romanians know at all, apart from charriots towen by cows?

  10. kostea13 on June 1st, 2010 2:45 am

@joakimveyron NOT DRIL BABY DRIL ! SOLAR / WIND POWER + ELECTRIC CARS = FREEDOM !

  11. joakimveyron on June 1st, 2010 3:09 am

@kostea13 Nope, the tesla doesn’t have a 300 miles range. It doesn’t even reach the range advertized by that company (240 miles). It was tested to have a mere range of 80 miles. Yippieh, while carrying around a 500 kg battery which is necessary, as batteries are a very bad carrier of energy. And no, it takes 16 hours to charge the Tesla. And how does the Tesla make you less dependent on fossil fuels, if 85 % of the electricity is produced by fossil fuels?

  12. kostea13 on June 1st, 2010 3:52 am

@3089280288 Yes they have a stor in Munich and will open new more …

  13. 3089280288 on June 1st, 2010 4:10 am

@kostea13 Does Tesla sell outside of California?

  14. kostea13 on June 1st, 2010 4:36 am

Well if you like FREEDOM FROM FOREIGN ARBIAN OIL you sould by the TESLA S with 300 miles range and 30 minutes charge time !!!
Dont pay for TERORISM just pay for some SOLAR PANELS si an ELECTRIC CAR and that is all you have got FREEDOM !!!

  15. kregzdeM3 on June 1st, 2010 5:26 am

I think freedom isnt that… Freedom is petrol… Electric cars, isnt very freedomy, they run out quickly, and take years to recharger. If someone only could think of a way to charger them in the same time, that takes to fill a tank of gas. Then only thing we are lacking is the noice =)

  18. DarkMnMChocolate on June 1st, 2010 7:16 am

another failure from 2003? there was a reason why 2003 had a huge fail and decline of electric cars. 3 hours to charge for 60 miles? that’s the same ratio 7 years ago..
Seriously they need to make an Oxygen Car.

  19. kostea13 on June 1st, 2010 7:43 am

    another ugly piece of crap.

  21. JUKIO01 on June 1st, 2010 7:57 am

i actually was doing to research online for great batteries in the world. i came upon a batter called the virus battery, check it out

  22. JUKIO01 on June 1st, 2010 8:43 am

they already are fast charging, its just that it doesnt charge all the way. for electric cars to work, we need to find a way to charge batteries very fast without dammaging the battery, charging atleast 80% or more, able to last thousands of charges, and able to last for hours. oh ya, and the motor needs to be very reliable

  23. s54bmw on June 1st, 2010 9:26 am
