There are many different types of RC vehicles, there are RC electric cars, trucks, as well as a variety of different other vehicles like tanks, boats and airplanes. There are also gas and Nitro vehicles as well. You can find them in Ready-To-Run models, which can be used right out of the box, as well as in kits that you have to put together yourself. If you are just starting out in the RC hobby, it may be a good idea to get yourself a good electric car first.

RC electric cars have many advantages over other RC vehicles. Most of these are RTR, and after charging the battery pack they can be put to use right away. Electric cars are also much easier to deal with, and more reliable than gas models. You don’t have to worry about trying to put gas into the small tanks, getting the fuel all over yourself, as well as dealing with the exhaust emissions. Gas powered models go much faster, but because they use fuel instead of electricity, they run out within a few minutes. An electric model can go for a half an hour or more, depending on the size of the battery pack. Most people that have electric cars carry a charged up spare battery pack to extend their play time.

While RC electric cars are slower than gas model RC vehicles, this is a good thing, especially for the novice. Driving an RC car is much different than driving a regular car, and you need to get used to the RC controller. Having a slower vehicle can prevent you from driving off the road, and damaging your car. While they may be somewhat cheaper than a gas model, this doesn’t mean they are any less rugged. They are far less expensive to replace than a gas model, so you can practice driving and if something does happen, you aren’t out hundreds of dollars.

While RC electric cars have more advantages that gas powered RC vehicles, there are some disadvantages that you have to be aware of. One of them is that is takes time for the battery packs to recharge, sometimes up to six hours. Battery packs are not all the same, for the best power and reliability, you should choose a Lithium battery. These last longer, charge faster and run longer than other batteries.

There are many different RC electric cars to choose from. It is a good idea to avoid those toy RC vehicles that you would find at mass marketing retailers, because these are cheaply made and won’t last very long. If you want a car that is going to take the abuse that a beginner may dish out, a hobby grade model is what you want. They may be a little more expensive, but you will find they last much longer than cheap imitation RC cars and vehicles.

When choosing the right RC electric cars, it is important that you decide what you are going to be using it for. If you are going to run RC vehicles just on the street, you can choose from a number of low profile racing cars. If you are planning to drive around on rougher terrain, then choosing a dune buggy or something with a higher clearance level is a must.

At AMRCTruckStore, you will discover an amazing selection of low priced and excellent quality rc electric cars.

Why Hybrid Cars are Better

By: Thomas Jones

You buy one of the best conventional cars on the lot. It offers you an internal combustion engine, has lots of torque, it’s speedy and even has a 3 CD changer. Your neighbor buys the same car but his is a hybrid. Why did he buy a hybrid? What makes a hybrid any different from the car you bought? Here is a list of six reasons why your neighbor bought a hybrid compared to a conventional car.

1. Miles per gallon: Hybrid cars get about 30 more miles per gallon than any conventional car. If your conventional car is getting about 32 miles to the gallon then your neighbor is probably getting about 62 miles per gallon. This can make a big difference in your gas budget every month, especially with gas prices on the rise. In the future hybrids are hoping to be able to get about 100 miles to the gallon. Sounds nice to me.

2. Oil changes less often: The conventional car you bought will likely need to have an oil change about every 3,000 miles. Your neighbor’s hybrid on the other hand will only need an oil change about every 5,000-6,000 miles. The break down of this is if you only drive about 1,000 miles a month you will only need to change the oil in a hybrid twice per year compared to a conventional car that will need to have it’s oil changed four times a year. Sounds like the hybrid is saving you even more money.

3. Helps protect the environment: Hybrid use less gasoline so they give off less emissions that are causing the greenhouse gases. This is because many hybrid cars use two different types of energy to power them, gasoline and electricity. Hybrids are helping to reduce the effects emissions are having on the worlds oil, reduce smog and help the ozone.

4. Hybrids are smart: Many hybrids come with a feature that will automatically turn the engine off when your idling or if the speed your going is less than 15 miles per hour. Once you press on the accelerator it will automatically restart the engine. This will help lower your use of gasoline even more.

5. Hybrids Repairs: Although hybrids have made many advances in technology they are still similar enough to a conventional car so they can go to just about any auto shop for repairs, regular maintenance and body work.

6. Hybrids are safer: Most people can not truly understand why a hybrid is so much safer that a conventional car. Simply put the battery in a hybrid car is nickel laid instead of the lead acid battery that is found in conventional cars. The hybrid also require less gasoline. Because of these two factors there is less potential for there to be a disaster in the hybrid is in an accident. So it makes the hybrid much safer compared to a conventional car in an accident.

There are also several other reasons why a hybrid car is better than the conventional car. It is up to you what kind of car you choose to purchase.

Future Of Electric Cars In India

By: Cardekho2010

Carmakers have realised the importance of using alternate fuels to power cars. Lots of R&D is being done in this direction to come up with a technology so advanced that it is efficient and economical both. One of the many solutions that are most likely to influence the future in a big way is the concept of electric cars.

In India the pioneer of popular electric cars has been the Reva Electric Car Company, which is a joint venture between the Maini Group India and AEV California. The company began functioning in 1994 from Bangalore and soon launched the two-seater electric car we all know as Reva i.

Electric cars that can come to India

What Reva started is now being taken forward by the country’s other major carmakers like Tata Motors. The company showcased a Tata Indica Vista Electric model at the Delhi Auto Expo and is right now showcasing the electric version of the Tata Nano at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors India, in collaboration with Bangalore based Reva Electric Car Company, is also expected to launch Chevrolet E-Spark during the later months of 2010. Rumours of Nissan coming to India with its electric Leaf are also there. Sources claim that even Ford Motors might have two electric cars – Transit Electric van and Focus to offer by 2011, though nothing is final and confirmed about any of these models making to India. Carmaker Renault also showcased its Renault Twizy two-seater concept electric car at the Delhi Auto Expo. However nothing is clear about Renault’s India plans regarding Twizy.

Major road blocks ahead

The biggest challenge for any electric car company in the country is the lack of infrastructure to support their products. So much so that country’s biggest carmaker Tata Motors is not too keen on bringing Indica and Nano’s electric versions to the country! Prakash Telang, MD, India Operations, was quoted saying, “Infrastructure is a problem and so is the manner in which electricity is produced in India. It’s more about the source of electricity and unless we are assured that we aren’t removing pollution from the roads, only to add those emitted by electric plants, we can’t move into the local market.”

This is not all, high pricing, servicing problems and travel possible only in a limited range are some other key factors that have been hampering the growth of electric cars. However, once these limitations are addressed the future might just belong to these eco-friendly beauties across the world.

The Most Important Hybrid Car Information

By: Anton Rowd
Posted: May 10, 2008

]]>

When picking out a hybrid car, many customers seem to overlook all the hybrid car information that they should be looking at. Granted, many cars manufactured at present (hybrid or not), really do sell on their looks and just how comfortable they ride. But buying hybrid cars are slowly changing car shopper habits.

Mileage

When you think about a hybrid car or when you choose one, it all boils down to one thing: mileage. What shoppers didn’t know in the past is that mileage means everything. It dictates how far a car can go on a gallon of gas and even tells you a little something about the gas that is being used and how much emissions a car makes. When you go out shopping for a hybrid car, this is probably the first thing you will have to keep an eye on through a quick scan of a hybrid’s EPA rating.

Features

Now, since hybrid cars are essentially cars of the future, you might want to look at every square inch of it as well. These new cars are not just designed to look great and save gas. It’s their technological features that should be taken to consideration.

The Engine – First of all, the hybrid engine is something that everyone should marvel about. Many hybrid vehicles actually use two engines and this is important hybrid information for anybody in the market for a hybrid vehicle. One engine runs on gas and it provides juice for a separate electrical engine that will help power a hybrid.

The Battery – Another great technological feature is that as a hybrid runs along on the road, the gas engine and the movement of the vehicle help to charge special battery cells that power the electrical engine. This is a great way to conserve energy and it does not take a lot of fuel to run a hybrid either. Lastly, a stop start feature that is gaining recognition in the motorist world is something that was first seen in hybrid vehicles. Basically, this technology allows a car to shut down almost completely when it is on stand still which means no gas is being used when one is stuck in traffic. The car starts up and moves again when the accelerator is pressed again.

The Advantages

There are so many advantages to consider when using a hybrid car. Current manifestations of these vehicles definitely dispel the idea that hybrid cars are too small and too unattractive to be seen driving around in.

Looks – Take the Toyota Prius as an example. It is one of the leading hybrid vehicles that not only boast of one most fuel-efficient technologies, but it looks good as well. Its sleek body has been the inspiration for many other car manufacturers looking into getting into the hybrid car craze but trying to make their cars look good as well. Some mid-SUV range vehicles are also now getting into the hybrid engine craze and this is a perfect idea for those who want to make a change but still want to own a car that’s large and commanding.

Hybrid cars are definitely worth looking into if you are looking to buying something new for your everyday usage. Know what to look at first and remember to ask all the important hybrid car information such as what technology it uses and what mileage particular models can achieve to the gallon.
